The Will County Community Health Center will be expanding services to the county health department’s location in Monee.
The CHC’s chief medical officer, Dr. Jennifer Byrd, said in a news release that she’s proud of the upcoming expansion. She pointed out that when she began working at the CHC, they only had two locations of operation, at the main building in Joliet and a mobile medical unit, and now it has four.
The CHC expanded its services to the health department’s location in Bolingbrook at 323 Quadrangle Dr. in the summer of 2017. The health department’s location in Monee, 5601 West Monee-Manhattan Road, already offers services from the environmental health, family health services and behavioral health divisions.
Once the CHC is completely moved into the Monee location, the staff will offer primary care for newborn babies, children, adolescents and adults. Additionally, services like school and work physicals, childhood immunizations, chronic disease management, acute illness care and minor surgical procedures will be offered. Referrals will also be available to the Joliet site for family planning services.
“This is exciting for us, as we continue to be good stewards of what Federally Qualified Health Centers are all about: Growing and expanding our services to meet the needs of the communities in which we serve,” Byrd said.
