Health First Community Health Center (HFCHC) is expanding to meet the needs of Western Kentucky. HFCHC is a not for profit, federally qualified health center. They operate seven (7) clinics throughout six (6) counties in Western Kentucky. Their mission is to provide high quality, affordable health care and improve the well-being of our communities.

“We are proud to announce the addition of a new location in Morganfield,” says CEO Shelley Gobin. “Enhancing services to the community is a goal of our organization. We set out to identify the unmet health and wellness needs in our communities and assess the ability of the health center to address them. This included specific opportunities of organizational growth in establishing new access sites. In recent years, we have been approached by various individuals advocating for a health center in Union County. After further research, an identified need for services was determined by the Uniformed Data System (UDS), a standardized reporting system.”

Community health centers provide access to high quality, affordable, and comprehensive primary and preventive healthcare services. They are governed by a volunteer board of directors whom are 51% patient users, making them consumer driven. Health Centers have a unique mission of ensuring access for underserved, underinsured and uninsured people.

A sliding fee scale discount program is offered for uninsured and under insured patients who meet the federal eligibility guidelines. These guidelines are based on income and household size.  The funding for this program is made possible through federal grant funds. Health centers provide services to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. HFCHC accepts all major commercial insurance, Medicaid, Medicare and KCHIP.

Health centers serve as a medical home and partner in your overall healthcare. They provide a care delivery model that is patient-centered, comprehensive, team-based, coordinated, accessible, and focused on quality and safety. Health centers partner with hospitals, medical clinics, specialists, testing facilities, pharmacies and other entities to ensure that the patient’s medical needs are met.

The clinic will be located at 220 N. Morgan St. in Morganfield. With an anticipated open date of January 8, 2020, Health First looks forward to making your health, their first concern!
