U.S. Sens. Cory Booker and Bob Menendez (D-NJ) have secured $2.2 million in federal funding for Jersey City’s Alliance Community Healthcare facilities.

“As I travel across the state, I’ve met so many hardworking families who rely on the full range of services our community health centers provide,” Menendez said in a statement.

“Whether it’s preventive, primary or dental care, reproductive or behavioral health services, Alliance Community Healthcare is delivering quality, affordable care to men, women, children and seniors across Jersey City and this funding will allow them to continue fulfilling that mission.”

The $2,290,840 comes from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to support Alliance Community Healthcare, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with two locations in Jersey City.

“Federally Qualified Health Centers, such as the Alliance Community Healthcare, offer vital care such as behavioral health, pediatric, and reproductive services to fill the healthcare gap for individuals and families that need it most,” added Booker.

Alliance Community Healthcare, Inc. provides pediatric care, reproductive services, dental care, HIV prevention and treatment services, and behavioral health care.

“We are excited that this funding will allow us to continue providing quality services to the residents of Jersey City,” exclaimed Alliance Community Healthcare CEO Marilyn Cintron.

“We appreciate Senator Menendez and Booker’s continued support of community health centers in New Jersey and across the country.”

In New Jersey, 24 community health centers operate 135 sites, providing preventive and primary health care services to 537,960 New Jerseyans.
