The U.S. Department of Health and Human Service (HHS) has awarded more than $14 million to health centers in West Virginia.
Specifically, Community Health Systems, Inc. will receive $3,075,914; Community Care of West Virginia, Inc., $4,364,437; New River Health Association, Inc., $2,299,011; and Shenandoah Valley Medical System, Inc., $4,325,852.
“These health centers are providing essential services to West Virginians across our state,” said U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va. “Without these centers, many West Virginians would not have accessible healthcare without traveling long distances and spending funds they may not have.”
U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., added, “Ensuring access to quality health care, regardless of where a person lives, is critical to the health and well-being of West Virginians. By continuing to make investments in vital components of West Virginia’s health care system — such as community health centers — and supporting prevention and treatment for addiction, we can keep West Virginia communities healthy.”
